When I tell you I was so happy to learn that one of my favorite voice actors was in a new game, I was way past ecstatic. Now, when I tell you I was surprised to learn he was in a dating simulation game, I was beyond thrown for a loop. Especially when that loop is a game called, Date Everything.
What I asked myself: “Date Everything?”
Yes, Date Everything. From the trailer that was released July 25th, we are given a new game with an interesting take on a new dating simulator. Actors-turned-Game Developers Ray Chase, Robbie Daymond, Max Mittleman, and Amanda Hufford bring you Date Everything. That’s right, Tengen Uzui, Goro Akechi, and Ryuji Sakamoto have banded together to create a new dating simulator with a twist. Of course this line-up includes Amanda Hufford voicing the character Rubber Ducky in this new gem.
You did not read that wrong. A rubber duck.
Gifted a pair of magic glasses (or maybe virtual), you can choose to date anything from the running water of the house to the laundry. From what we know from the trailer, there are about a hundred choices to choose from, which features a legendary voice cast such as Laura Bailey, known for her ditzy role as Tohru Hondo from Fruits Basket, and Johnny Yong Bosch, recognized for his fabled performance as Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach.
We are left to believe that the creation of this game was spawned from the creative minds during the pandemic of Covid-19. While Covid-19 preventing gamers from getting new games, it also dampened the dating world. This must have been their creative solution. Alas, this is all but hypothetical thinking with no clear confirmation as to what brought this idea on from this illustrious group of talents.
Not much more has been revealed about the game, but you too can now add Date Everything to your Wishlist over on Steam, and eventually, date your vacuum.
Happy Dating!
